A selection of three Bollywood songs, varying in character and playing level.

These tunes are specifically arranged for the lever harp, but with very slight adaptations they are perfectly playable on the pedal harp as well.

It all started with my student Rishi, and the happy fact that he has a harp playing sister to play duets with. Combined with their Indian roots, that was the perfect excuse to make some arrangements of Bollywood favourites.

The songs really stuck with me and I was thinking many more players might enjoy playing them. I found out many audiences enjoy hearing them as well. So I made some solo versions too. The duos will become available soon, but for now, here are the solos published so far:

This arrangement was made for my student Eve, and seems to be a popular choice for ABRSM candidates lately.

The piece is featured on the ABRSM non-pedal harp ánd pedal harp grade 3 repertoire lists. Judging from the amount of downloads it is now serving quite a few more students who like the song (probably because of popular remixes;). A neat way to learn to deal, and hopefully start to enjoy, mid-tune lever/pedal changes.

Monk’s Jigsaw is one of the repertoire choices for the ABRSM non-pedal harp grade 8 exam.

Drawing on years of exploring guitar and piano-based blues, particularly New Orleans blues piano, I’ve crafted these pieces specifically for harp. They are inspired by legends like Meade Lux Lewis and Thelonious Monk.

My goal is to provide fresh, fun repertoire that encourages my fellow harpists to delve deeper into the blues. I hope these tunes will help you experiment with techniques to bring out the bluesy soul of your harp, and that you’ll take these pieces — maybe try your hand at improvising? — and make them your own.
